Wood Deck Added to a Vintage Shovel
2/21/08 - Bob Kares sent us these pictures of his recently completed "Gale" one with the engine showing and the other with the cowl on. He writes "I just thought you might like to see my finished boat since I finally got the rest of the trim on it. After I finished the putting on the details,I also changed out the old running gear (SS-1) to all SV 27 power system.(Our club is allowing super vee power in LSH this year) At this point it is untested and hasn't even been in the water since I put the wood deck on it.(it only weighs 36 ounces without batteries)The local pond doesn't open till May so I got a few more months to wait,so if you can imagine it's like having a c note burning a hole in your pocket that you can't spend. So while I'm wating ,I started another campbell hull project, this one will not have a wood deck,it will be shovel nose painted up in CICRUS-CIRCUS colors(my wife has been pushing me for a pink boat!)"

Rock Mountain Thunder Boats Event:
6/28/07 - The ROCKY MOUNTAIN THUNDER BOATS model boat club held a race sponsored by Classichydros in Pueblo, Colorado the weekend of June 30 and July 1, 2007. The following is a write-up by Rod Sanata of Rock Mountain Thunder Boats along with a few photos of the event:
"We started out with great water on Saturday but the waves kicked up and had to postpone some qualifying heats to early Sunday morning. We had a picnic dinner Saturday evening with some great food and company. The race was set on a beautiful mountain lake in the San Isabel forest. I think everybody had a fantastic time, we had a lot of inclusive racing with a not to serious atmosphere."
